My name is Tracy and together with my partner Andrew we breed authentic Australian labradoodles. We are devoted breeders and live in the South East in Essex, UK.

We fell in love with the breed when our friend Jane, started breeding Australian labradoodles and this is where our beautiful girl Darcy came from, bringing her home in June 2013.

We do not have many litters, but those that we do have we are extremely proud of. Our dogs come from the best breeders in the UK and America, with breeding lines that go all the way back to the original breeders in Australia.

We decided to breed Darcy because she had the most amazing temperament, at the time we had our five children living at home who all loved and adored her, she was the sweetest most gentle girl.

Australian labradoodles are hypo-allergenic and non shedding, the ideal choice for people with asthma and allergies. All our puppies are born and raised in our home and are always well socialised and perfect with children. Our dogs are not early spayed or neutered as personally and on our vets advice this should be left until they have matured hormonally, so we sell our puppies with their first vaccinations, microchipped, fully wormed, vet health checked, one months free insurance and a spay/neuter contract.

The Australian Labradoodle

In 1988, the Royal Guide Dogs Association in Australia were approached by a blind woman living in Hawaii in need of a guide dog that would be suitable with her husband's allergies to dog fur and dander. The R.G.D.A.A. decided to mate a standard Poodle to a Labrador Retriever aiming to produce a guide dog with a non shedding coat to overcome the couples problem. The result was successful with just one of the puppies from the mating not causing an allergic reaction with the lady’s husband and the dog went on to serve her as a guide dog for ten years.

A Labrador crossed with a Poodle is usually referred to as first generation (or F1) Labradoodle. By breeding a first generation (F1) Labradoodle with another first generation (F1) Labradoodle the puppies will be then referred to as second generation (F2) Labradoodles and so on. In the UK these dogs would be referred to as Early Generation Labradoodles or more commonly, English or British Labradoodles.

The current Australian Labradoodle, however, is very different to the Labradoodles mentioned above and have more than just Labrador and Poodle lines in their history. Although an Australian Labradoodle is a cross breed dog it can still be referred to as a pedigree as breeding takes place within the same breed and the breeding history and lineage is recorded. You may also see the term ASD given to the breed which refers to 'Australian Service Dog'. To ensure a more consistent non-shedding coat and to influence the size and conformation of the new breed, two breeders in Australia, Rutland Manor and Tegan Park carefully selected the following additional breeds which have resulted in the beautiful aesthetic and temperament we see today.

  • Soft Coated Irish Wheaten Terrier
  • Working Cocker Spaniel 
  • Portuguese Water Dog
Breeders have developed their own lines of Australian Labradoodles by choosing the best dogs to breed with, further increasing the genetic diversity of the breed to ensure that further generations are as healthy as possible. All Australian labradoodles will have R.M. or T.P. somewhere in their family tree.

Early Generation Labradoodles may have very little consistency in the puppies produced with variations in size, body shape, temperament and coat type. There could also be further throwback physical characteristics with ear length and the shape of the face. Australian Labradoodle litters are very recognisable and throw backs to parent breeds are very rare with coats that have been developed for nearly 40 years that rarely shed, making the ideal dog for asthma and allergy suffers. The Australian Labradoodle is particularly intelligent, very easily trained and make fantastic family dogs, being amazing with young children.

Australian Labradoodles are generally categorised into three sizes:

  • Miniature – 14-17 inches 
  • Medium – 18-21 inches 
  • Standard – 22-26 inches

Margo

Margo is our stunning Red Tuxedo Australian Labradoodle girl. She has a playful temperament and cheeky personality that brings a smile to everyone who meets her and loves nothing more than a cuddle. Mabel

Mabel is a beautiful Caramel Tuxedo Australian Labradoodle girl. She likes nothing else but chasing a ball and is a gentle soul loving her evening cuddles. Her coat is soft and fleecy and at 18 inches she is a small medium size. If you are interested in a puppy from one of Mabel's litters, please get in contact. Logan

Logan is an extraordinary individual and is such a laid back and calm boy. He is a deep dark chocolate red with the whitest flash on his chest. His coat is silky soft fleece and just like our girls he has some of the best bloodlines in the world. He stands at 20 inches to his shoulder. Oscar is the most gentle, calming and loving dog I’ve ever had; from our first enquiry you both were nothing but helpful. It was a hard time as we had just lost our beloved Jessie, a cockapoo which we had for an amazing 12 years and were debating another dog for our other little one Bella who was left heartbroken; you took us through the benefits of having another without pushing the idea. The update pictures, care package, meeting the pups and lovely mum Margo was perfect. You looked after those puppies as if they were going to your own and already started the potty training before we collected Oscar. Honestly can’t recommend you enough and if I didn’t already have 3 dogs, I would be getting another from yourselves. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Tracy and Andrew. From the moment we contacted them about a puppy they couldn't have been more helpful. One of the reasons we initially decided to meet them both over anyone else is because Tracy was the only breeder we contacted that answered all our questions straight away. When we went to visit them they then took the time to answer a load more questions we had. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They have and continue to help us even 7 weeks after getting Willow. The contact we had with them between the puppies being born and collecting Willow was amazing. Really made us feel like part of their puppy family. We knew Tracy and Andrew were the breeders for us the moment we first spoke to them. Their love for the breed is evident upon initial conversation and has only become more visible the longer we have know them. Their ethos and puppy wellbeing focus instantly drew us in, something we struggled to find with other breeders. They are beyond helpful with every question we had and even let us meet their dogs before making our final decision. Obviously it was a no brainer! Since brining home our pup their support has not wavered and their interest in knowing how the pups are growing portrays the exact reason we chose them in the first place! Our pup is gorgeous, has the loveliest temperament and is the best decision we have ever made. So much so we have already spoken about a second, we will certainly be returning to Tracy and Andrew at Darcy’s doodles when the time comes as I can’t recommend them enough!

We adopted our girl, Luna, in February 2024 from Tracy and Andrew and I can thoroughly recommend them. The whole process was friendly, professional, transparent, honest and fair. Following a welcoming visit to see Margo and Logan, Luna’s parents, where we received a great deal of information, we felt confident that Tracy and Andrew were the breeders for us. Once the puppies were born we were given continual updates on their health and welfare as well as frequent videos of their early progress. On collection of our chosen puppy we were given individual information on feeding and toileting etc and it quickly became clear that high quality care and early training had been in place. Now four months old, our puppy is healthy, happy and a bundle of energy. Should we want another one day we would certainly return to Tracy and Andrew. Thank you both so much. Luna is a delight!
